In their bumbos...again!

Here's a video that I took of the girls sitting in their bumbos from the other day.  I'm sitting next to the both girls right now, who are happily playing on the floor as I'm trimming this video getting ready to load it on the blog.  When the heard the crying on the video, they immediately stopped, looked at me, and started crying.  Too cute!

Jibbering Away

Both girls love to get their diapers changed.  They do not like to be wet, and they quickly are in good mood once their dirty diaper comes off.  This is a little video of them jibbering away right after I changed them.  I think we're the only ones that think this is worth watching from beginning to end multiple times in a row, but hey, what can we say...we're smitten!

The one wearing the flower is Ellie.

Getting home from our Sunday walk

The weather couldn't be prettier right now.  The air is slightly cool and with our bald ladies, I can't get enough of their hats!

The girls have both had colds the past couple days, and so we didn't want to put them in the church nursery yesterday.  We went on a nice long walk yesterday instead.  Caroline and Ellie almost always do great on a walk...as long as we're moving.  Here are some pics of them when we got home.

Caroline passed out in the pink hat....

Ellie very awake in the white hat....

...and wanting to be immediately taken out of her car seat where she is much happier in Daddy's arms!

C&E's Favorite Toy...

...is by far the playmat.  Toys hanging from a bar overhead - genius!  They especially love it in the mornings, which is when they tend to be in their best moods.

Enjoying the outdoors...sort of

Caroline and Ellie love to be outside.  Anytime I want to calm them down, I can simply walk outside and they quickly become more content.  It's easy to do with one, but it's difficult to hang out very long by myself holding the both of then with no place to put them down.  Now that we have these bumbos, its much easier.  I think they'll do great once they have an easier time holding their heads up for long stretches.  They're still little bobble-heads in these things.

Caroline (on left) and Ellie are starting to notice each other more recently.  I have noticed that they look at each other more and even begin to respond.  It's very subtle right now and this was one of the first times I have seen them both look at each other and smile.

Caroline (below) doesn't last long, yet, sitting in this.  She makes all these funny grunting sounds as if she feels way too restricted.

Ellie (below), on the other hand, is a little unsure about the whole thing but cautiously sits and looks around...

Copy and Paste

I took this picture a couple weeks ago, but it's still one of my favorites!  Kim Rogers gave us these shirts and I can't get enough of them!  I'm going to be so sad when the girls grow out of these, but thankfully, I think it's still a little far off...I hope!

Caroline is Copy and Ellie is Paste.

Shots and Smiles!

This morning, Caroline and Ellie had their 4 month check-up which ended in getting shots.

I look forward to their doctor visits.  The girls get weighed, which I somehow internalize as mark of how well I am doing as their mother.  I absolutely love their doctor, and if I could make a weekly visit for the fun of it, I would.

Caroline (wearing the pink in these pictures) weighs 12lb, 5oz, and 24 inches long.  Ellie (in purple) weighs 12lb, 2oz and is 23.5" long.

The visit ended in the girls getting two shots and an oral vaccination.  It breaks my heart to hear that kind of cry.  Thankfully the nurse stayed with me afterwards to help me hold them and calm them down.  Poor things.  They napped well today and went straight down when we put them to bed at 7pm, which is their new and improved bedtime these days.

Caroline still goes to bed with a pacifier.  She loves to suck on her hand, but she has never quite been able to master the thumb sucking despite our best efforts to encourage it.

Ellie, on the other hand, rarely uses a pacifier except on days like today when she's unusually upset.  When we lay her down to go to sleep, she immediately looks for her thumb, and goes straight to sleep.

Ellie is the one with the fiery personality...

...she makes loud squeals (and often)....

...and when she gets upset, she gets MAD.  Blake and I think she's going to be the spokesperson for the two of them for anytime they want permission to do something, or for those times when they try to explain why they shouldn't be in trouble.

Caroline squeals and coos in a softer voice than Ellie.

She has that perfect little freckle on her back which we used for the longest time to tell the two girls apart.  Now, at 4 months old, the girls are starting to look more distinct and we can almost always know who's who at any given time.

Caroline is also the one that is more even-tempered.  It's not that she's more easily pacified (I'd say the girls are about tied on that one), but Caroline doesn't get quite so mad when things don't go her way.

Both girls love to be held equally as much.  They never seem to mind when they're piled on top of each other in my arms, as long as they both have a spot!

Our friend just let us borrow these Bumbos today.  We're loving our new toys!

Official 4 Month Pictures!

Caroline and Ellie are officially 4 months old today!  Here's some pictures of me trying to capture their big-girl selves.  Ellie was extremely cooperative, but Caroline was stiff as a board the entire time and refused to actually bend her legs to sit.  Every time I tried to sit her next to Ellie, she immediately stiffed up and sank to the bottom of the chair.  Such a little pistol all day today!  I didn't really great a "frame-able" picture here, but the series of pictures are of course, in my opinion, adorable!

....Ellie is on the left and Caroline on the right.

Happy [4 Month] Birthday to our babies!

Caroline just refused to sit up next to her sister.  Her body totally straight as a board!

4 months old already!

Grandma Winnie gave Caroline and Ellie these outfits for Valentine's Day!  They will be 4 months old tomorrow, and Blake and I can't believe that they are no longer tiny babies.  How did we get here so fast?  These are pics of their latest trick...pushing themselves up and looking around on their tummies.  It's especially cute when we get them up from their cribs and they're looking up at us with huge smiles.  They both love to make squealing sounds and are usually in a good mood...except for when Rick babysat them this past weekend and they screamed their heads off the entire time!

Here are some pics from this morning in their Valentine outfits!  Ellie is on the left and Caroline on the right.

Caroline on left and Ellie on right in this picture!  Can't get enough of them holding hands!
